THE STARTING POINT
A closer look
at the work.
A food and beverage brand with five outlets across Chennai, selling on Swiggy and Zomato.
The challenge
The brand started investing in platform ads and needed to know quickly whether the money was working.
What we did
- Measured ad performance outlet by outlet: ad orders, ad sales, spend, clicks and impressions.
- Normalised a partial month against the prior month's daily average, so growth was measured fairly rather than hidden by an incomplete month.
- Used July, the month before ads began, as the sales baseline.
The results
- Swiggy reported about ₹9 in platform-attributed sales per ₹1 of ad spend, with an 11.6% click-through rate at ₹2.66 per click. This is a sales-to-spend ratio, not profit.
- Revenue per day rose about 82% on the previous month.
- On Zomato, every rupee of ad spend brought about ₹3.25 of extra sales against the month before ads began.
What we'd look at next
A 90-day plan built on the same data: fix operations first, then improve menu conversion, then scale ad spend only at outlets where the lift holds.
